AGRICULTURE: IT'S IMPORTANT!

Agriculture Study Areas Offered For High School Students

Three areas of study in Agriculture are offered in the Fort Mill School District:  Animal Science (at Fort Mill High School), Horticulture (at Catawba Ridge High School), & Natural Resource Management (at Nation Ford High School).  All three areas of study offer hands-on learning as their basis, where students are able to learn by doing.

Agriculture For Adult Learners & Community Members

Tastefully Local is a monthly information session, offered in conjunction with the Anne Springs Close Greenway, & is designed for members of the Fort Mill Community.  These hour-long sessions host guest farmers, artisans, and producers who share their knowledge on such topics as outdoor recreation, local foods, beekeeping, etc.

FFA
Agriculture students are encouraged to join the professional organization, FFA.  Through this national organization, students have the opportunity to learn through competitions, travel, and explore careers in agriculture.  FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education
